Out of France, Bernard Gast's creations were soon recognized and especially in Canada and Japan. Today, in the world, less than 20 artists are realizing plastic works, more or less related to cinema, and most of them live in USA. So, we can note John Baldassari, Jeff Wall, ...And Bernard Gast !
Bernard Gast is the only one to make creations directly with the 35 mm films from cinema and this is the keystone of his art.
1992 ... Japan Bernard Gast exhibits in a contemporary art salon, in the "Grand Palais" (Paris) and in the Gallery of the french national Congress. the same year, a japanese gallery from Osaka, Gallery Kishi is interested in his works.
1999 ... Canada Jacques Fournier (Roselins editions) publishes "From my night, your day is born", presented in Canadian Cultural Centre in Paris. In 2007, Museum of Maltwood (British Columbia, Canada) shows Bernard Gast's works.
From 2000 to 2011 In Artpress magazine, he wins a national competition and during a residence in French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), he creates a work then presented in Museum of Nature Study. He participates to "Nuit Blanche" (Sleepless Night) organized by the town authorities of Paris.
